JZSHRIMPS

SHIPPING POLICY

How we prepare, ship and deliver live Caridina shrimp and aquarium products.

Live shrimp are different from ordinary products. Shipping availability, weather, carrier service and packaging all affect whether an order can safely be shipped. JZShrimps may delay a live-shrimp shipment when conditions create an unreasonable risk to the livestock.

1. Shipping Availability

We ship eligible orders within Canada using the shipping service shown or agreed to at checkout. Available destinations and shipping methods may vary by product, season, weather, carrier restrictions and destination.

Some remote locations may not be eligible for live-shrimp shipping. If a destination cannot be safely or reasonably served, JZShrimps may contact the customer to arrange an alternative shipping method, delay shipment, or cancel the affected order with an appropriate refund where applicable.

2. Live Shrimp Shipping

Live Caridina shrimp are packed using appropriate insulated and protective packaging intended to reduce temperature swings and handling stress during transit.

Shipping dates for live shrimp may be adjusted when weather, carrier schedules, weekends, holidays or other conditions create an elevated risk to the livestock.

Unless specifically stated otherwise at checkout, shipping charges are separate from the price of the livestock.

3. Weather Holds

We monitor forecast conditions for the origin and destination before shipping live shrimp. If conditions are unsafe, JZShrimps may place the shipment on a weather hold and contact the customer about the next suitable shipping date.

Customers should not request shipment during clearly unsafe conditions. If a customer specifically requests shipment after being advised that conditions are unsuitable, live-arrival coverage may be affected.

4. Delivery Address

Customers are responsible for entering a complete and accurate delivery address, including apartment/unit information where applicable.

If an address is incorrect or incomplete and the shipment is delayed, returned, redirected or otherwise affected, JZShrimps may not be responsible for livestock loss or additional shipping costs resulting from the address issue.

5. Tracking & Delivery

Tracking information will be provided when available. Customers should monitor the tracking information and make reasonable arrangements to receive live livestock promptly.

For live shrimp, customers should be available for the first delivery attempt whenever possible. Unnecessary delivery delays, customer-requested rerouting, address changes, delivery holds, missed deliveries or other carrier modifications can increase livestock risk and may affect DOA coverage.

6. Carrier Delays

Carrier delivery estimates are estimates and are not guarantees. Delays caused by weather, mechanical issues, operational disruptions, transportation problems, remote delivery conditions, labour disruptions or other events outside JZShrimps' reasonable control may occur.

For live-arrival claims, please follow the requirements in our Returns & DOA Policy.

7. Dry Goods

Botanicals, shrimp food and aquarium supplies may be shipped separately from live livestock when necessary. Orders containing multiple product categories may arrive in more than one package.

Shipping charges and delivery estimates will depend on the products and destination.

8. Local Pickup

Local pickup may be available for eligible orders. Pickup details, timing and location will be provided separately. Customers should not arrive for pickup until the order has been confirmed as ready.

9. Shipping Restrictions

JZShrimps will only use shipping services and packaging methods that are permitted for the products being shipped. Carrier rules for live animals can vary, and some carriers restrict or prohibit certain live-animal shipments.

For example, Canada Post currently permits certain small, non-poisonous cold-blooded animals only under specific conditions and domestic services, and requires compliance with its mailing rules. citeturn0search1turn0search6

JZShrimps will not knowingly ship an item using a service that does not permit that item to be mailed.

10. Order Confirmation & Delivery Information

For online purchases, the order confirmation should clearly identify the products purchased, applicable charges, payment terms and delivery information. Ontario's Consumer Protection Act includes disclosure and confirmation requirements for covered Internet agreements. citeturn0search0turn0search4

Important: This policy is a business-policy template and should be reviewed against the exact carrier services you use and by a qualified Ontario legal professional before publication. Carrier rules and consumer-protection requirements can change.
